We want to keep you up to date on what we are playing, watching, reading, and listening to throughout eternity and until the end of days. So each week we are going to do a little group check-in to let you all know how we are progressing. Sometimes it'll be one of us and sometimes it'll be all of us, but either way we really hope you enjoy :

Games:
Tomb Raider (2013)
I haven't played this game since it originally came out on the Xbox 360, so I finally snagged the remaster of the reboot on the PS4. It's been a real treat to revisit as I prep myself for Shadow of the Tomb Raider later down the road. The game play, environments, and story are as wonderful as they were 6 years ago. The bow and arrow are phenomenal even if the shooting arenas get a little tiresome at points.
Lego Batman 3
There is nothing better than the feeling of beating a game with someone, and that feeling is multiplied by a billion when you do it with your child. After spending quite a bit of time playing this game my son, I finally saw credits. The core game is the same as many other Lego games where you run around and smash worlds, solve puzzles, and beat up baddies. Another part of Lego games is they have quite a bit of replay ability as you need certain characters to solve puzzles leading to golden bricks and new characters. That being said we still have a long ways to go before we hit 100%, but we will get there (unless something pops up first and grabs our interest).
Book: I’ve been slowing pushing through Dark Matter. I'm about halfway through and am thoroughly enjoying it so far. I recommend diving in without knowing much of the premise as that technique has made it that much better for me. That being said I won’t spend too much time talking about the book.
Music: On a whim I hit play on the Ajoni Jones and Boathouse collaborative album One Punch posted on the 2dopeboyz blog. Instantly this short EP had me in its grip with the mixture of Jones’ raw lyrics and Boathouse’s deep instrumentals. I'd never heard of either Ajoni Jones or Boathouse but I will make sure to take time to dive deeper into their respective backlog.
Recommended Tracks: FUTURAMA, SAITAMA, PRONTO

Owlboy
I’ve been playing Owlboy for a while now and I believe that I’m about halfway through the game at this point. I think that it is the prettiest indie game I’ve ever played, and that’s saying something considering many of the beautiful retro inspired games there are nowadays. I have been finding it hard to stay motivated to come back to it though. I can’t figure out if it’s actually that much fun. It’s gorgeous and has a lot of personality, but in the end, playing the game has been the worst part of it so far.
Kingdom Hearts
I LOVE Kingdom Hearts. The next numbered entry is finally out and it’s amazing how you can be waiting for something for so long and then it sneaks up on you before you’re ready. I want to replay the main entries before I dive into the new one and I’m willing to be a couple months late if that’s what ends up happening. I haven’t played them since I was in grade school (I played the hell out of them in grade school) so I am really enjoying going back through them after so long. They still hook me with the same charm, nostalgia, and music (oh, that MUSIC). I am on what I think is the last set of bosses in the game and I’m realizing I’m a little underleveled to finish the game out. I’m ready to move on, so I think I’ll be dropping the difficulty down and just burning through it to move on to the second one.
The Demon King
This is the first book of The Seven Realms series, which I got for the holidays. It came with some very strong recommendations from the one who gave it to me. I’m only about sixty pages in right now and I can say that it’s good and I like it. I’ve never been a fan of dual perspective books, but so far that hasn’t been bugging me so much. The world building is still going on in full force so I’m currently trying to piece everything together in my head. The only complaint I have with it right now is that the romantic elements seem a little more YA and childish. Granted they are sixteen years old so it fits, but it may seem a bit forced. Still, there hasn’t been much of it so it’s not a big deal.
Godsgrave
Holy HELL, this book has been in my life for a long time. It’s the second book in the Nevernight series and I’ve never read a book in the way that I’ve read Godsgrave. I get super into it for a few days and then let it sit for weeks. Normally if a book sits a week without being touched, then it never gets picked back up again. Every once in a while though, I will pick it up again and get instantly sucked back in. It only takes a few pages for everything to click back into place story-wise and then the action and humor keep me there. It’s not how I prefer to read my books but I think that’s going to be how this goes until it’s done.
The Lies of Locke Lamora
I’ve been listening to this one as an audio book off and on and it’s been getting finished in a similar way to Godsgrave. I like it while I’m listening to it and then forget about it for long stretches. It hasn’t done anything to amaze me, but the overall story and characters have been interesting enough so I’m intending to keep this going for a while until I finish it. I just always forget about audio books so we will see how much progress actually gets made.
