We want to keep you up to date on what we are playing, watching, reading, and listening to throughout eternity and until the end of days. So each week we are going to do a little group check-in to let you all know how we are progressing. Sometimes it'll be one of us and sometimes it'll be all of us, but either way we really hope you enjoy :

GRIS (Switch)

I finally finished this breathtaking game after about 2 months of off and on play. It's a game I found myself needing to be in the right mood for, as it's a game you want to take it all in while playing. The story of finding strength in the darkest of times made an impact without being front and center. My only gripe with the game is the character moved a little slow at times. The environments, art, and sound all mix together in a memorable and unique experience. I think I had about 50+ screenshots by the time I hit credits.

Kingdom Hearts 3 (PS4)

Two Thirds most anticipated game has dropped and after 7 hours in, I know that it was worth the wait. Granted, I didn't have to wait 14 years since I was late to the series. The gameplay is fun and each world so far has had its own little twist to combat. For example, in the Toy Story world you get to take control of mechs. This has been a blast from opening credits (that intro video is the most hype) to where I'm at now. At this point I can't recommend it enough.

Kingdom Hearts (PS4)

Okay, so I previously said I was going to bump down the difficulty and power through the last chain of bosses in Kingdom Hearts. As it turns out, you can’t change the difficulty after you’ve started the game. My options were then to go out into the world to try to level up, just hope I get lucky, or quit and watch the ending on YouTube and just say I beat the game. I chose option two. It took me a couple of attempts, but I finally got through the end of the game. I was always worried that this game wouldn’t be able to capture the magic that I experienced in my youth, but holy crap this game is still awesome. A lot of it was definitely nostalgia taking over, but either way Kingdom Hearts is still charming and fun and colorful and just great. If you never got into it when it came out and feel overwhelmed by the insane amount of titles there are, I still think you should give this a try. Look past all the cheesy writing and don’t be so critical of everything and just enjoy the ride. The sequel is next and I’m hoping that I don’t get worn down too quickly from the first nine billion hours where you play as dumb ole Roxas. C’mon dumb ole Roxas don’t let me down!

Wargroove (Switch)

I never played Advance Wars. I never played Fire Emblem. I never played Final Fantasy Tactics. They’ve always looked appealing to me, but I’ve never had the means, or desire, to ever give them a try once their respective consoles became obsolete. Wargroove is the spiritual successor I’ve been waiting for. I’m enjoying it so far quite a bit. At this point, there’s been some sort of tutorial that adds something new at every new level, but the general gameplay is right up my alley. Strategic turn based combat is something that can really hook me in when it’s done right, so I'm optimistic that that is going to be the case here. I’ve had the pleasure of having my commander die on what would have been the very last turn of the game which forced me to replay the same level that had taken me almost an hour, so that’s pretty maddening. It will, however, make me more careful going forward... I hope.

Owlboy (Switch)

Owlboy is going in the “maybe I’ll come back to it later” pile. This special place usually ends up becoming a graveyard. I feel bad about it, but I really felt like I had had my fill of this game after three or four hours. It’s still freaking gorgeous and charming, but I just couldn’t get over how much I wasn’t having fun with the combat and traversal. I want to see the conclusion of the story and find out that hopefully every stops being a dick to my man Otis, but alas, that will be a journey for the future.
